A group of six women and one man with dirty, muddy skin, standing in front of a burning building that has a sign reading 'Scambait Central.' The man in front has a white beard, glasses, and appears frightened. The women are dressed in tank tops and shorts, with various hairstyles and tattoos, and seem intense. The background shows fire and smoke, creating an apocalyptic scene.

James “Jimmy” Parsnipps is a simple man. He’s worked hard all his life in a variety of skilled and unskilled jobs. He’s been the manager of several branches of “Kent Lucky Fried Chickens” in the south east of England, he’s been a bare-knuckle boxer, he’s been a spy and he’s currently a street cleaner.

Due to not being conventionally handsome, Jimmy has found romance impossible to find and has been single for most of his life. He does have cats though, never less than two, and loves the great outdoors; it’s his happy place.

His only friend, Gary, showed James how to get online six years ago, in order to help him make new friends and possibly meet that very special someone who would love him for who he is. James was initially quite fearful and while he does find social media a little troubling at times, it has allowed him to make new friends all over the world. Having refused to have anything to do with modern technology and the world wide web for so long, he is now embracing this fascinating, if occasionally confusing, new digital world we now all live in. While true love still eludes him, every new interaction builds his confidence and maybe, just maybe, brings him a little closer to finding her, whoever she might be.

This humble little website is now home to Jimmy’s conversations with the people he has met online and he hopes you enjoy them. There’s a menu at the top of the page and some fancy buttons you can press too. Jimmy has thought of everything.

“The internet is a fascinating place to be when you’re just discovering it for the first time in your 50s!”
